Apps for ethical non-monogamy and couples, compared (2026)

Looking for an app as a couple, a third, or someone openly non-monogamous? Here is how the well-known options compare on the things that actually matter, using each company’s own published information.

By White Rabbit EditorialPublished 8 min read

There’s no single best app for ethical non-monogamy. Feeld suits couples and singles who want linked profiles, SDC is built around the swinging lifestyle, FetLife is a kink community rather than a dating app, and OkCupid works for individuals who are openly non-monogamous. Choose on couple support, verification, discretion and pricing. Below, each option is checked against the criteria in our guide to choosing a discreet app.

Who wrote this: this article is published by White Rabbit, which is one of the options compared. We’ve kept to what each company says on its own help centre, website or App Store listing, as checked in October 2026. Features and prices change often, so confirm the details with each app before you sign up or pay. Where we couldn’t confirm something from the company’s own pages, the table says “check current terms” rather than guessing.

As checked in October 2026, from each company’s own pages (see sources below). Features, availability and prices vary by country and change over time.

Feeld: is it good for couples and thirds?

Feeld’s help centre says it was built for “open relationships, polyamory, couples who play together, sub-doms, threesomes” and more. Couples don’t share a login. Each person keeps their own profile and can link it with up to five partners (a “Constellation”), and linked members can be found by people searching for couples. Connections and chat histories aren’t shared between linked partners, and you can remove a partner from your profile at any time.

  • Verification: optional photo verification matches a profile photo to a live selfie, checked by the third-party provider Veriff. Feeld says it doesn’t ask for ID for this. It also runs age verification in specific locations.
  • Pricing: Feeld says its core features are free, including linking profiles with partners. Majestic is its one paid membership, and linked partners each need their own Majestic membership to use its features.
  • Discretion: Incognito, which hides your profile from people you haven’t liked, and private photos, which only your connections can see, are listed as Majestic features. If discretion matters to you, budget for the paid tier.

SDC: what does it offer swinging couples?

SDC describes itself as a swingers lifestyle community for couples and singles, with messaging, groups, a travel calendar, events, and listings of lifestyle clubs and businesses. If you’re a couple drawn to swinging, parties and travel, it’s built around exactly that.

  • Verification: SDC calls its member “validations” the main way it weeds out fake profiles. Members vouch for people they’ve met in person, and SDC advises against validating anyone you’ve only spoken to online.
  • Pricing: the US App Store listing describes free sign-up, a three-day trial with full access, and paid plans of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. Those plans are listed separately as “Couple/Female” and “Male”, and the Male plans were priced higher when we checked.
  • Discretion: SDC says it prioritises privacy, but we couldn’t confirm specific privacy features from its public pages, so check its current terms and settings.

FetLife: is it a dating app for D/s?

FetLife says plainly that it is “not a dating site”. It’s a social network for the kink, BDSM and fetish community, with groups, writing and local events such as munches and workshops. Many people use it to learn and find community before, or instead of, using a dating app.

  • Couples and D/s: members can add “Relationships” and “D/s Relationships” to their profiles. The other person has to approve before a relationship shows publicly. Members can also mark fetishes as hard or soft limits.
  • Verification: optional. You can verify with a government ID or a picture on your profile, and the FetLife team reviews it. FetLife says it may ask for proof of age if a member might be under 18.
  • Privacy and pricing: FetLife says it doesn’t sell or share your data and permanently deletes everything when you delete your account. It offers picture and inbox privacy settings, works with StopNCII and Take It Down, and describes itself as “99.9% free”, with optional paid support for extra features.

Can you use OkCupid for non-monogamy?

Yes, as an individual. OkCupid’s help centre says it supports non-monogamous relationships, but it allows one person per profile and no couple or joint profiles. If you’re partnered or married, your relationship type can only be set to non-monogamous. Once you’ve set it, you’ll only see people who are non-monogamous or open to it. You can mention partners in your profile text.

OkCupid also says that dating outside your relationship without your partner’s consent, or without disclosing it, breaks its community guidelines, and that it doesn’t allow sexually oriented first messages. It works well for openly non-monogamous individuals dating separately, and less well for couples looking for a third together.

Where does White Rabbit fit?

White Rabbit, the publisher of this article, is new — it opened in October 2026 — and never creates fake profiles, so its community is still small and growing. It’s built for couples, singles, people in consensual non-monogamy and D/s dynamics, and it does a few things differently:

  • Couples are two linked accounts. Each partner has their own individually verified account. A couple profile exists only when both approve the link, and either can unlink instantly. Their individual profiles stay as they were.
  • Structure-led matching. Each profile says whether it’s a solo person or a couple and what it’s looking for (a solo person, a couple, or a third). Matching starts there, and pairs dom, sub and switch roles by complementarity.
  • Discretion is built in. There’s a panic-hide that switches to a decoy screen, a discreet mode, locked photos that open per person and are watermarked, and pre-emptive blocks of people you know, stored only as a salted hash. A partner’s identity is never stored.
  • Safety is always free. Age checks, blocking, reporting and panic-hide never sit behind a paywall. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but it will be one price for everyone, with no gender-based pricing and no pay-per-message credits.

Everyone passes an 18+ facial age check, and members can also choose an ID check. See safety & discretion for how it works.

Which app is best for couples seeking a third?

It depends what kind of connection you want and how much exposure you can risk:

  • You want linked partner profiles on a broad, sex-positive app: Feeld is designed for this. Factor in the paid tier if you need Incognito or private photos.
  • You’re a couple drawn to swinging, parties and travel: SDC is built around that scene. Check its membership pricing for your situation.
  • You’re exploring kink or D/s and want community first: FetLife’s groups and events are a common starting point, bearing in mind it isn’t a dating site.
  • You date separately as individuals: OkCupid’s non-monogamous setting works, but not for joint couple profiles.

Whichever you choose, agree your boundaries as a couple first. Our guide to meeting a third as a couple covers that conversation.

What should you check before you sign up?

  1. Who can see you. Is hiding your profile free or paid? Can you keep photos private until you choose to share them?
  2. How people are verified. Is it a selfie, an ID, member vouching, or nothing? Does a verified badge mean the same thing for both partners in a couple?
  3. What happens to your data. Read how deletion works and what’s kept afterwards.
  4. What it really costs. Check whether safety or privacy tools are paywalled, and whether prices differ by gender or by couple and single.

Whichever app you choose, protect yourself the same way: use photos that don’t appear elsewhere, keep your workplace and surname out of your profile, and move to other channels only when you’re ready. Our chapter on protecting your identity goes through it step by step.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best app for couples seeking a third?
There isn’t one; it depends on what you want. As checked in October 2026, Feeld lets each partner keep their own profile and link them together, SDC is built around the swinging lifestyle and sells couple memberships, and OkCupid doesn’t allow joint couple profiles. Compare couple support, verification, discretion and pricing using these criteria.
Are there Feeld alternatives that support couples?
Yes, though each works differently. SDC markets itself to couples and singles in the swinging lifestyle and lists couple membership plans. FetLife lets members link relationships, including D/s relationships, but says it is not a dating site. White Rabbit treats a couple as two individually age-checked accounts linked together; it opened in October 2026, so its community is still small.
Do any ENM apps charge different prices by gender?
Some apps sell separate membership plans by profile type or gender, and prices can differ between them. Plans change often and vary by country, so check each app’s current terms before you pay. White Rabbit has committed to one price for everyone, with no gender-based pricing.
Can I join White Rabbit now?
Yes. Registration opened in October 2026: sign up with your email (no password) and pass an 18+ check. White Rabbit never creates fake profiles, so the community is small while it grows. Pricing hasn’t been announced. It will be one price for everyone, with no gender-based pricing, and safety features will always be free.
